Daytona Beach, FL - Gas prices in Florida and in Volusia County continue to drop a penny or two a week, with AAA reporting that the price for a gallon of regular gas fell 3.5 cents last week for an average of $3.23 per gallon on Sunday. The state average has fallen 12 cents since Thanksgiving, down from the 2021 high of $3.36 per gallon on November 20th.
Concerns over the Omicron variant caused the price of crude oil to drop 13 percent. Last week, the crude oil price started to increase but that lost momentum by the end of the week.
While the average price for a gallon of regular gas in Volusia County is $3.23, you can find it for a lot less if you look around. Both Buc-ee's and Sam's Club in Daytona Beach have an advertised price of $2.83 per gallon. The Wawa on Ridgewood Ave. just south of International Speedway Blvd has it priced at $3.03.
