FWC Asks Public To Count Wild Turkeys

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is asking for the public’s help with the Wild Turkey Summer Survey.

FWC is asking everyone to report all wild turkey sightings throughout Florida, including rural and developed areas, from June 1 to Aug. 31.

By reporting wild turkey sightings, you're helping provide a way to gauge wild turkey nesting success, brood survival, and population dynamics at a statewide level.

The information gathered from the annual summer wild turkey survey, combined with harvest data, lets FWC biologists scientifically manage the wild turkey population—ensuring a thriving population now and in the future.
