Human Trafficking Investigation Nets Five Arrests

Posted

Bunnell, FL - A human trafficking investigation conducted by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) and federal authorities leads to the arrest of five women, who now face charges related to prostitution.

Throughout the investigation, undercover detectives were able to meet with the five female suspects—who at the moment remain unidentified—at various locations around Flagler County. FCSO stated in a release that the detectives and the suspects would work out an agreement before exchanging money for sexual favors. Once an agreement was reached, detectives signalled deputies to move in and make the arrests.

None of the five women that were arrested come from the Flagler area, as they travelled from Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Daytona Beach.

"I want to thank the FCSO Special Investigations Unit for their great work in investigating human trafficking with our federal partners," Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. "We will not tolerate human trafficking or
prostitution in Flagler County."

The investigation remains active and ongoing. We will provide updates once they are made available.
