FCSO: Fishers Find Body In Graham Swamp

Flagler County Sheriff's Office investigators say that Sylvain had been missing since the evening of September 25. Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believed that the body was that of Sylvain's after it was found.

The FCSO Major Case Unit is continuing the investigation because of the suspicious circumstances and the autopsy results. The cause of death has not yet been determined because investigators are waiting for toxicology and anthropology results.

FCSO says this is common practice in death investigations and does not necessarily mean that the person found was the victim of a violent act or that there is a threat to the community. They say that '

“We are always committed to demonstrating transparency but we do not want to release any
information that later may be determined to be inaccurate,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “We understand that the public has concerns and we will provide more information as the investigation progresses, ”Death investigations are inherently complex as they involve multiple disciplines and take time to ensure that proper conclusions and information released are accurate and verifiable.

Information from the investigation shows that Sylvain was at Advent Health on the day (September 25) he was reported missing. He was acting erratically then left just after 7:30 p.m. on his bicycle. It's believed that he died a few hours later.

If anyone has any information related to the death or Sylvain’s activity after he left Advent
Health, please contact the lead investigator on the case, Detective Dawson, at 386-586-4823 or email Tips@Flaglersheriff.com
