Local Agency Collecting For Hurricane Laura Victims

Posted

Ormond Beach, FL - The Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties, in the hands of Executive Director Gloria Max for more than 20 years, has helped numerous people locally and worldwide. Now, they are asking for donations for the victims of Hurricane Laura, which slammed into the Lousiana Gulf Coast early on Thursday, August 27.

The Federation provides $2,500 for each disaster and along with donations received, the money is distributed by check to the victims directly in care of the recommending institution. In a press release, "These are usually the first funds that the victims receive, and from the letters we have received from past recipients they are overjoyed and can’t believe that this tiny Federation and donors have done this for them."

As the Jewish Federation has done in other disasters, "100% of donated funds go directly to the individuals who have lost the most.  The Federation covers all administrative costs. We have a matching grant of $5,000 so join us and donate today and make your dollars count twice!"

If you'd like to help the victims of Hurricane Laura, you can do so online or by mail. You can also contact Gloria Max directly for more information at 386-672-0294.
