Man Charged With Attempted Murder In DeLand Shooting

Victim shot multiple times, in stable conditions, says police

DeLand, FL - Police have arrested and charged a man with attempted murder after he shot a 45-year-old DeLand man.

The DeLand Police Department (DPD) says Robert Jacobs also faces an aggravated battery with a deadly weapon charge on top of attempted murder. Officers responded just before 4 p.m. Friday (September 10) to a home on Laisy Drive after someone called 9-1-1 saying a person had been shot. When police arrived, they found a 45-year-old male who had been shot multiple times.

The victim was transported to AdventHealth DeLand for further treatment and was said to be in stable condition. Their identity will not be released at this time.

Police plan to release more details as they become available. Jacobs' booking information was not available through the Volusia County Division of Corrections as of Sunday morning (September 12).
