Daytona Beach, FL - A 22-year-old man that Daytona Beach Police say threw knives at several officers during an altercation at the Plaza Resort & Spa on A-1-A last Wednesday, February 10, remains in the Volusia County Jail. Steven Fuller faces six charges of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer. He has a blanket bond of $50,000.
According to the incident report, all officers were operating in an official law enforcement capacity and said (each) law enforcement officer was wearing a Daytona Beach Police Department class B uniform with agency patches displayed on each shoulder and wearing a full duty belt at the time of the incident.

DBPD was called to the hotel about 11 a.m. on Wednesday in reference to a man who said he was going to kill everybody and was armed with weapons of mass destruction. Central communications then relayed that they received another call from a male advised he was at 600 N Atlantic Av and there were shots fired and he was going to kill people.
When DBPD arrived on scene, hotel security reported they did not hear any shots fired. The suspect was reportedly on the seventh floor. Officers responded to room #725 to find Fuller in the room with the door open. As officers gave the command to drop the knife he had in his hand, he threw it hitting an officer in his upper chest on his outer vest carrier. That officer was not injured.
Fuller threw more knives, than began to throw other objects that were in the room. Several officers attempted to use TASERs against Fuller with no visible result.
An officer attempted to talk to Fuller about what he was doing and how things were going to go. Fuller responded that the world was ending and the reason he called was to kill them. According to the report, Fuller yelled at the officers to shoot him.
After several more attempts to get Fuller to submit, including more talking and use of non-lethal devices, the suspect finally succumbed to a TASER. Medical personnel removed multiple TASER probes from Fuller. He was taken to the hospital and was medically cleared.
