Man Hits Fire Truck Head-On In Ormond-By-The-Sea


Ormond-By-The-Sea, FL - A man who witnesses say was driving recklessly on Ocean Shore Boulevard just before hitting a Volusia County Fire Rescue truck head-on near Kingston Park, was airlifted to Halifax Hospital today in critical condition. Three firemen were taken to the hospital as a precaution, the others started working to get the driver out of the SUV.

The accident happened just after noon when the 51-year-old West Virginia man was driving northbound while the fire truck was traveling southbound. Witnesses say he crossed into the southbound lanes striking the fire truck.

The crash remains under investigation.
