NASCAR: "The Clash" Finds New Home In Los Angeles

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - NASCAR's season-opening exhibition will have a new home at the start of the 2022 season.

After spending over 40 years at Daytona International Speedway, the Busch Clash—which has had a few different sponsors since its first race in 1979—will now be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Still using the "Clash" moniker, the event will have its first running on February 6, the first race of the season, as NASCAR takes over the Coliseum for qualifying competitors.

Then just under two weeks later, NASCAR will return to Daytona for the Duel at Daytona, followed by the coveted Daytona 500. NASCAR will then spend the next few months on the road before returning to Daytona in August for the regular season finale, the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Playoffs will then take competitors through another nine races before finishing off the season at Phoenix Raceway in November.

“This latest iteration of the schedule should lend itself to another season filled with drama and great racing on the track, starting with the Daytona 500 and culminating with NASCAR Championship Weekend at Phoenix Raceway.”
