No Issues Found At Mainland High School After Lockdown

UPDATE:  One person is under arrest and two others have been identified by DBPD in relation to an incident at Mainland High School today. Investigators say the suspects are ninth-graders and they all took part in blowing off firecrackers in a stairwell at the school.

Each of them will face a misdemeanor charge of disruption of a school function and a felony charge of bringing an explosive device onto school property.

Daytona Beach, FL - Mainland High School was the site of a lockdown earlier this afternoon. Law enforcement officers responded to a call for 'shots fired' around 12:30 p.m. today. Detectives found firecrackers

Daytona Beach Public Information Officer Messod Bendayan said that the building has been cleared and no injuries have been reported.

There was no shooting. Bendayan also said that this is not a shooting and there is no shooter.
