Ormond Beach, FL - Publix is taking over the lease for the Lucky's Market in Ormond Beach. The Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce confirmed that the deal has taken place. OBCC is hoping the deal paves the way for a Greenwise Market. The layout and size of the store is conducive to Publix answer to upscale grocery stores like Trader Joes.
The agreement is for a lease reassignment and assumption agreement transfering the remaining years of the lease owned by Colorado-based Lucky's Market Operating Company was transfered recently to Publix, according to the Volusia County Property Appraiser's Office. It's unknown how many years are left on the lease. The transfer amount is listed as nearly $2.3 million.
