Daytona Beach, FL - One person is dead as a result of yesterday's (February 11) three-vehicle crash at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and Clyde Morris Boulevard. Daytona Beach Police say that a 57-year-old Port Orange woman is the victim.

According to investigators, around 11:30 a.m., the victim was driving west on ISB in a Chevy S10 pickup truck in the second inside lane approaching Clyde Morris when she failed to brake for slowing traffic and rear-ended a 2003 Chevy Avalanche pickup truck.

After that impact, the S10 was still moving and sideswiped a green 2005 Ford Five Hundred. The pickup came to rest with the victim trapped inside.

Once she was freed, paramedics took the victim as a trauma alert to Halifax Health Medical Center. She died from her injuries at the hospital.

No injuries were reported by the drivers of the Avalanche or the Ford. The driver of the Avalanche was a 29-year-old Daytona Beach man and the driver of the Ford was a 21-year-old Apopka woman.

No other people or vehicles were involved in this incident.

Next of kin notification has been made to the family of the woman who lost her life. Charges are not pending at this time.
