Orange City Man Charged with Child Porn, Inappropriate Texts

ORANGE CITY, Fla. - 40 year-old Adam Morris of Orange City is in custody after being charged Friday with seven counts of child pornography, and three counts of distributing it to minors. He was also given one additional charge of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

According to the Volusia Sheriff's Office, a 16 year-old came forth with information implicating Morris back in January. They showed Facebook Messenger screenshots which reportedly showed inappropriate communications between the two.

Detectives then obtained a search warrant for Morris's Facebook, and identified three other individuals they believe to be victims. One reportedly said they were twelve years old. Another warrant was executed on Morris's home, and his cell phone was seized as potential evidence.

During the search, VSO deputies found photos and videos of girls ages five to eleven in sexual positions, according to a police statement. He likely didn't take the photos himself, the statement says, but he would've received and/or distributed them with his electronic devices.

Morris is currently held at the Volusia County Branch Jail on $110,000 bail.

The Volusia Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have further information on alleged misconduct by Morris to call the VSO Child Exploitation Unit at (386) 323-3574.
