Orange City OB-GYN Charged With Battery On Patient

Orange City, FL - An Orange City OB-GYN is arrested after a patient, who says she thought she might be offered a job, was asked to take her clothes off and that  52-year-old George Besong touched her inappropriately.

The victim told an Orange City Police Department (OCPD) detective that the incident happened on August 15, 2020. She said that on that day, she received a text message asking her to meet him at his office later in the afternoon to "discuss a  possible opportunity." The victim said that it appeared there were no other people in the building. She said that Besong asked her if she'd "like to receive a liposuction and tummy-tuck procedure as part of a marketing strategy for his plastic surgery business." The victim said Besong took her in to an examination room, which is when he asked her to remove her clothes. She said she was able to stop him when he was trying to touch her and leave the building.

Orange City Criminal investigators say Besong completed consultation documents regarding his meeting with the victim in a possible attempt to substantiate the private after-hours meeting after they interviewed him. Lab results on saliva found on the victim's breast were verified as Besong's.

On Thursday, June 3, detectives got an arrest warrant for Besong, charging him with Fabrication of Evidence and Battery. He was booked into the Volusia County Jail with a bond of $7,500. He's since bonded out.

Anyone with information on Besong regarding this case or other incidents is asked to contact the Orange City Criminal Investigations Division at 386-775-9999.
