UPDATE: The Ormond Beach Police Department is reporting that the missing children, 4-year-old Serenity and 1-year-old River, are in DCF custody.  Their mother, Chasity Shelton, had checked into the  Extended Stay Motel, 1608 North US Highway 1 in Ormond Beach.  OBPD was notified today (January 5) that the family was at the motel. All parties were contacted and DCF took the children into custody.

Ormond Beach, FL - Two missing children, along with their parents, are being looked for by the Ormond Beach Police Department. The children, 4-year-old Serenity Shelton, about three feet tall, around 30 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes, and her brother, 1-year-old River Shelton, about two feet tall, around 20 pounds and also with blonde hair and blue eyes were last seen with their mother, Chasity Shelton, at the Econo Lodge in Ormond Beach.

Shelton is described as a 24-year-old white female, about five foot seven, with brown hair and green eyes. OBPD says they are also trying to locate the children's father, 29-year-old Eric Ely, a white male, about six foot four, weighing about 300 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. A check of Volusia County Jail records show that Ely has an arrest record that includes domestic battery on a pregnant person.

OBPD reports that they are looking for the family in relation to an order issued by the Department of Children and Family Services to take the children into their custody.  They say the parents are avoiding DCF.
