POCC Chooses Developer For Riverwalk Phase 3

Posted

Port Orange, FL- During a joint meeting of the Port Orange City Council and the Town Center CRA on Tuesday, five developers gave their pitch on why the city should choose their offer to develop Riverwalk Phase 3. The final choice is Bristol Development Group. District 2 representative Chase Tramont said that every one of the developers had great ideas and it was a hard choice to make. "We had an almost six-hour marathon, presentations from five different development groups and they were all spectacular. Frankly, I wish I had five different areas for each one of them to present a project to do because all of them would be first-class."

Tramont said council members pretty much had the same two companies as number one or two. "We had a split decision on number one and two. We ended up as a council, the majority selected Bristol Development Group which is fantastic. They were not my first choice, they were my number two choice. But at the end of the day, I didn't lose sleep over anybody that we were going to have. They're a fantastic group, they've had some very proven projects."

Something that Tramont wants Port Orange residents to know is that all five of the developers agreed to not ask for additional tax incentives. He also said that even though Bristol is purchasing the property, the City Council will have a lot of input on the project. "We're going to design it collaboratively. They're going to continue to receive input from the Council so it will be a very, very collaborative public and private partnership."
