Deltona, FL -  Members of the Volusia Sheriff's Office Deltona Narcotics Enforcement Team and Crime Suppression Team were already at the scene of a crime yesterday (June 18), before it happened. They were working a proactive operation int he area od Normandy and Providence Boulevards when they say a Chevrolet Impala and a Dodge Charger pulled into the Winn Dixie, got out and switched license plates.

The Impala pulled into a drive-through lane at the Wells Fargo Bank while the Charger parked at the KFC next door. The female driver of the Impala tried to cash a check for $1,400 using the ID from a car break in Lake County. Deputies swarmed the car while the female driver tried to back out of the drive-through lane, hitting another vehicle. A male passenger jumped out of the Impala and ran to the Charger, got in, and the car sped away. A deputy had a hold of the suspect but let go to avoid being dragged by the car. Meanwhile, the female driver of the Impala, 42-year-old Peggy Larsen of Ft. Lauderdale was arrested.

The Charger sped down Providence Boulevard for a few blocks before deputies got a stop stick hit on the car. The driver and front-seat passenger bailed and ran, while the guy who had jumped out of the Impala got in the driver's seat of the Charger and took off. He had to bail again and this time, deputies and K-9 Endo caught 32-year-old Courtney Walker of Dania Beach.

In searching the cars, deputies found one wig in the Charger and multiple wigs, purses, and wallets were seen in plain view inside the Impala.

During all of this, no one was injured.  Deputies are still looking for the other two suspects that were in the Charger.

Larsen is charged with refusing to stop after an order, attempting to use the ID of another without consent, unlawful possession of personal ID of another, unlawful possession of a stolen credit/debit card, passing a forged check, and operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked license. She was released overnight after posting a $30,500 bond.

Walker was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and driving while license suspended/revoked (habitual offender). He was released later Thursday night after posting an $8,000 bond.
