Daytona Beach, FL - Soggy weather is expected across Volusia and Flagler counties through Tuesday (December 24) morning. The National Weather Service said most of the area will see the threat for strong to severe storms through the overnight hours tonight (December 22). An organized band of storms will develop ahead of another cold front reaching the area around sunrise.
Most of the area will see at least 1 to 2 inches of rain with the south end of Volusia County getting 4 inches or more.
Morning drivers may deal with some localized flooding in low-lying areas. The showers and thunderstorms will continue on and off throughout the day and into Monday night.
By Tuesday morning the front will have moved through the area, leaving partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures during the day of around 67. It will be windy with gusts up to 25 mph.
Christmas Day temperatures are back to normal, with a high of around 74 at the beaches and partly cloudy skies.
