Daytona Beach, FL - City of Daytona Beach Communications  Manager Susan Cerbone says the widely-reported story that a 63-year-old New York man tested positive for the coronavirus while visiting Bike Week is untrue.

Cerbone said that the City has 'received confirmation from the Florida Department of Health in Volusia County that this individual never arrived in Daytona Beach (or Volusia County) and never participated in any Bike Week activities in our community.'

The City of Daytona Beach continues to coordinate with local government, tourism, health officials, and the business community, according to Cerbone. She said developments in regard to COVID-19 are being closely monitored.  Residents and visitors are reminded to follow the established precautionary measures for reducing the risk of COVID-19.
