Retired VSO Deputy Diagnosed With Cancer In Financial Distress

UPDATE: Feb. 25 - In a Facebook post, the Volusia County Deputies Association, Local 6035 reports that Jackie Fidler passed away last night (February 24). Another retired VSO officer Sergeant Ashley Combs, passed away, also from cancer, on February 23.   

Edgewater, FL - A retired Volusia Sheriff's Office (VSO) deputy is in financial need after receiving a cancer diagnosis. Per the information on a GoFundMe page for Jackie Fidler and her family, Jackie was diagnosed just a few months after she retired from a 21-year career with VSO. Her husband is self-employed and their private health care insurance canceled one year after Jackie was diagnosed.
