UPDATE: A warrant has been issued for 16-year-old K'Veon Asun Jiles in the shooting death of a DeLand man identified as 40-year-old Laroyce Covington. DeLand PD says that Covington was shot at his home on Wednesday.

DeLand, FL - Police in DeLand are now searching for a suspect who shot and killed a 40-year-old man late Wednesday night (July 21).
A release from the DeLand Police Department (DPD) says officers were called to the 700 block of East Walts Avenue after someone had called 911 to report that they had been shot. When officers arrived they found the victim, who police are not identifying at this time, with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was rushed to AdventHealth DeLand hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased by medical professionals.
No arrests have been made at this time. Police additionally stated that they believe this incident is isolated. Anyone with information on this case should contact the police immediately.
