Investigators say the suspect shot their roommate with a shotgun

UPDATE (03-09-20): Investigators now report that Orion Gass has been apprehended by law enforcement. There is still no news on the roommate's condition.

Ormond Beach, FL - Investigators are searching for a suspect who reportedly shot his roommate following a verbal altercation.

The Volusia Sheriff's Office says that the suspect, who has been identified as 21-year-old Orion Gass, was in an argument with his 25-year-old roommate around 3 a.m. Saturday morning (March 7th) at their home off of Granada Boulevard.

At some point during the argument, Gass reportedly shot his roommate in the lower back with a shotgun. 

Afterward, deputies were called to the scene for a report of a person shot and found the victim inside lying facedown with gunshot wounds to his lower back and buttocks.

He was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach where he underwent surgery. His injuries were described as not life-threatening and he remains in stable condition.
