PORT ORANGE, Fla. - The residents of a Guava Drive home in Port Orange were greeted with quite a surprise Friday morning - a plane had crashed into their front yard. The Volusia Sheriff's Office confirmed the bizarre occurrence this morning after video began to circulate on social media.
According to police, there were two passengers aboard the small plane when it crashed. One of the two was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, a relieving update given the nature of the accident.
The crash reportedly occurred due to engine trouble in the sky after the plane took off from Spruce Creek Fly In nearby. Aside from that, few other details are known about this strange turn of events.
