St. Augustine Man Linked To January Shooting In Deltona

Deltona, FL - A St. Augustine man is facing charges after Volusia County deputies tie him to a shooting that injured a person in January.

Deputies say Jeremiah Fuller was already in the Volusia County Branch Jail for an unrelated case when he received his new set of charges. He’s now facing aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon and ammo by a person declared delinquent in the county. He was already facing charges for grand theft, burglary, petty theft, and drug possession. His bond is now set at $53,500.

Fuller’s latest charges stem from a January 16 shooting where a 19-year-old man was shot in the leg outside his Lake Helen Osteen Road home. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries and has since recovered.

Deputies faced some minor roadblocks when they first began the investigation. Off the bat, investigators were met with inconsistent information and lack of cooperation from witnesses and parties at the scene. Since then, additional interviews and evidence connected the case to Fuller.

This was just one of two shootings deputies were investigating that day. Hours before that shooting took place, two males were grazed by gunfire as they drove on International Speedway Boulevard between DeLand and Daytona Beach. Those two—one of them a 17-year-old—told deputies they were on their way to a party in Daytona when a car pulled up beside them and someone inside began to shoot at them.

No arrests have been made in that case.
