Daytona Beach, FL - The State Attorney’s Office wants a judge to revoke the bond of former WWE star Tamara Lynn Sytch, who is now facing a DUI manslaughter charge for a deadly crash back in March.
In their recently filed motion, the SAO said state law allows for pretrial detention if the defendant is charged with DUI manslaughter and poses any further risk to the community.
Assistant State Attorney Ashley Terwilleger cited previous charges Sytch received in Pennsylvania as the main contributing factor. First, in May 2015, Sytch was charged with DUI and was found to have a blood alcohol content level of 0.253, which is just over three times the legal limit of 0.08.
Then in June of that year, she was arrested again for DUI. This time, her BAC was exactly 0.3. That was followed by another arrest just weeks later with a BAC of 0.078.
In December 2015, she pleaded guilty to one count of DUI and one count of BAC .02 or greater. Her remaining charges were dismissed. But, in October 2016, she violated her probation and was sent to jail. She also pleaded guilty to driving without a license in January 2017, and later had her probation revoked in February 2017. She was resentenced once her probation was revoked.
The SAO also pointed out that she has never had a valid license in Florida, and still has a suspended license in Pennsylvania.
Sytch is currently charged with DUI manslaughter in the crash that killed Julian Lasseter. On the night of March 25, witnesses say Sytch was speeding just before crashing into a line of vehicles. Lasseter was pronounced dead at an area hospital, while the driver and passengers of the other involved vehicle were treated at the scene.
Months after the crash, Ormond Beach police learned that Sytch had a BAC of 0.280—three and a half times the legal limit. Her bond was set at $275,000, but she later posted bail. In the time following the crash, Lasseter’s daughter filed a suit against Sytch and her boyfriend, James Pente. Pente has not been charged in Lasseter’s death. The suit is seeking damages of $30,000.
