The effort began in St. Johns County on Thursday (May 7) afternoon, as that Sheriff's Office alerted FCSO that Vaughan was headed their way on I-95, driving a stolen vehicle after being involved in several vehicle burglaries. FCSO deputies located Vaughan traveling recklessly at speeds over 120 mph. They saw him make several erratic lane changes and just missing other drivers several times. They deployed stop sticks at exit ramps in case Vaughan tried to exit I-95. He didn't and travled into Volusia County.

“This kid is lucky he didn’t seriously hurt or kill someone driving like that on a highway through three counties,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “He endangered many people including law enforcement officers from four agencies. To
any other criminals, take this as an example of how well law enforcement agencies work together. Thanks to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, and Florida Highway Patrol for working together to take this dangerous criminal off the streets and putting him behind bars where he belongs.”

Volusia Sheriff's deputies captured Vaughan after his vehicle crashed on I-4 near Saxon Bulevard. Through the investigation, it was found that Vaughn is already on Juvenile Probation for Grand Theft Auto in 2019.  He now faces mulitple charges as an adult: Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Burglary of a Conveyance, Grand Theft Auto, and Reckless Driving by St. Johns County and Flagler County deputies along with charges in Volusia County.  He's being held at the Volusia County Jail without bond.
