Third Death Penalty Trial For Palm Coast Convicted Killer

Bunnell, FL - A third death penalty trial is underway for convicted killer 47-year-old David Snelgrove. Prosecutors say he killed an elderly couple in Palm Coast.

Snelgrove was sentenced to death for the murders of 84-year-old Glyn Fowler and his wife, 79-year-old Vivian of Palm Coast. He's already serving a life sentence after being convicted of armed robbery, armed burglary and two counts of first-degree murder.

The murders happened in June of 2000. Snelgrove broke into the Fowler's home, planning to rob them and pawn their jewelry in order to support his cocaine habit. He beat and stabbed the couple 38 times.

Two previous death sentences were overturned due to a Supreme Court ruling that earlier juries should not have provided one sentencing recommendation for both murders.
