Three People Die In Two Separate Vehicle Accidents On Saturday

Daytona Beach, FL -  Three people died in two separate vehicle accidents on Saturday.

The first accident involved a single vehicle near New Smyrna Beach  early Saturday (September 26) morning. Florida Highway Patrol reports that two men, both 20 years of age, died after the car they were traveling in northbound on I-95 left the roadway just before State Road 44, overturned, and hit a tree. 

One man died at the scene, the other died at the hospital. FHP says neither man was wearing a seatbelt. The men's identities have not been released.

The second fatal accident happened Saturday night, just before 9 p.m. south of Oak Hill. FHP reports that a 64-year-old Titusville man, for an unknown reason, was driving his SUV southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 near Cedar Grove Road. That driver hit a 25-year-old Edgewater man traveling northbound in a pickup truck head-on. The Titusville man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Edgewater man suffered minor injuries.

Both accidents remain under investigation.
