PALM COAST, Fla. - Two individuals were arrested by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office on Monday after they were reportedly caught spray-painting a stolen semi truck and then fleeing deputies on foot. 33 year-old Dayanly Gonzalez and 18 year-old Reinier Perez-Torres were named as the two assailants.

The pair were called in after someone witnessed them spray-painting the truck in a Days Inn parking lot according to police. The area in question was at 120 Garden St N, just off of Palm Coast Parkway SW and behind The Home Depot. When deputies with the FCSO arrived on-scene, both subjects were said to have begun fleeing on foot.

Deputies pursued and quickly apprehended Gonzalez, while Perez-Torres made it to the treeline where he hid according to the police report. After over two hours of hiding, he was located by deputies and also arrested.

An investigation into the semi truck the pair are said to have been spray painting determined it was reported stolen hours beforehand in Columbia County, Florida (located about halfway between Jacksonville and Tallahassee in North Florida). They were allegedly attempting to mask its physical appearance after stealing it. The GPS tracker on the truck was found disabled and discarded nearby in the woods.

The pair received considerably different charges upon being booked into the county jail. Gonzalez got off lighter out of the two: grand theft motor vehicle and criminal mischief over $1,000, both felonies, and misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence. Her total bond was set at $13,500, which she posted the day after her arrest.

Perez-Torres was charged with four felonies: grand theft motor vehicle, criminal mischief over $1,000, possession of a vehicle with altered numbers, and fentanyl possession. Like Gonzalez, he was also given a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest without violence. His bond was set at $28,500, and he also posted it the day after his arrest.
