Two Men Injured Following Firework Mishap

DeLand, FL - Two adult males suffer burns and injuries after a firework exploded as they were handling it.

Chris Graham, spokesperson for the City of DeLand, said officers and fire fighters were called to the scene off of South Adelle Avenue after receiving reports of a "loud boom" Wednesday afternoon (July 15th).

There is where first responders found the two males with burns and severe hand injures. According to the release, both of the men were injured after a firework exploded before they could release it.

One of the males suffered an eye injury and was transported to a local hospital, while the other was airlifted to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

Graham reports that both men are considered to be in stable condition.
