Vax Up Event On Monday At Volusia County Fairgrounds

UPDATE: (April 17) - Volusia County officials say that walk-ups will be accommodated during Monday's event, as supply allows. COVID-19 vaccines at the Volusia County Fairgrounds will be Moderna.

DeLand, FL - The deadline to register for a special "Vax Up" event at the Volusia County Fairgrounds is tomorrow, April 16 at 4 p.m. The event will be held on Monday, April 19 at the Volusia County Fairgrounds from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. in partnership with the Florida Department of Health.

Registration is required and can be done online at eventbrite.com. The appointment will be for the Moderna vaccine, with an automatic appointment for a second dose on May 17.

"The state continues to schedule appointments for vaccines at the Volusia County Fairgrounds through myvaccine.fl.gov. The website now offers a streamlined scheduling platform for eligible, preregistered users. Rather than receiving a call to schedule an appointment, preregistered individuals should log in to the site to schedule their own appointment from available dates and times. Individuals may also opt-in to receive email and text appointment confirmations, reminders, and messages, as well as self-report if they’ve been vaccinated and no longer need an appointment."
