DeLand, FL - The Volusia County Council has a long list of items on its consent agenda tomorrow, many of them housekeeping items like renewing contracts. There's also an item that would add miscellaneous household items to the Relaunch Volusia: Feed a Family Grant Program.
County staff is asking Council members to approve a resolution that adds items designed to prevent and prepare for the Coronavirus. The initial suggestion is to add disinfecting and sanitizing wipes, sprays and cleaners, gloves, masks, paper towels, garbage bags, diapers, and baby wipes.
The resolution would allow the County Manager or his designee to approve additional items when necessary. This comes after a request from some of the organizations to provide the items along with food supplies. The resolution would be effective upon adoption and retroactive to March 27, 2020.
