VCFR Asking Residents To Fill Out Community Survey

Posted

DeLand, FL - Volusia County Fire Rescue is looking for feedback from what Fire Marshal Shane Lanoue calls VCFR's customer base. He says they want to see how we're (VCFR) doing as a department and as an organization. "We'd like everybody to get onto our website under the division of Fire, under volusia.org, and take that survey if you live in the unincorporated areas of the county and just tell us how we're doing." VCFR also serves the municipalities of Lake Helen, Oak Hill, and Pierson.

“Customer service in all businesses is incredibly important, and Fire Rescue is no different,” said Chief Bailey. “Residents, taxpayers, people in need of our service – they’re all our customers. We want to make sure that we’re meeting their needs and expectations.”

Lanoue says customer service is a big part of what we (VCFR) do and we want to make sure we're doing it right. "We want to make that sure we're meeting the needs of the citizens and we really want buy-in from them and see what they want in the future and see what they expect for us." He says that filling out the survey should only take a few minutes. "Click a couple of things, put some comments in there, if you like. We'll evaluate the surveys we receive probably in November."

The survey and strategic plan are all part of Fire Rescue’s efforts to become nationally accredited. The accreditation process usually takes 3-5 years to complete, with the development of a strategic plan one of the key requirements.

“This strategic plan process will result in a published document that will serve as a roadmap to guide Fire Rescue into the future,” said Volusia County Public Protection Director Joe Pozzo.

The survey closes on October 31.
