DeLand, FL - During a special session today, Volusia County School Board members voted unanimously to amend Policy 503, which required mandatory face coverings. The amendment makes them optional. It also strikes out much of the language pertaining to social distancing guidelines.
The amended policy covers schools and other Volusia County Schools facilities. Students, teachers, and staff who would like to continue wearing appropriate face-coverings can do so.
