FCSO: Cause of death ruled as a drowning

Palm Coast, FL - The report from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office says that the body found in Yacht Harbor Marina was that of a 22-year-old woman.

Yesterday (January 8th), FCSO reported the incident, saying that deputies found the body during a follow-up to a call they had received earlier that morning.

Since then, the victim has been identified as Alexandra Lawson, whose death has been ruled as a drowning. However, investigators are unable to conclusively determine the exact circumstances that caused her to drown, which leaves the investigation open.

“While we have confirmation on the identity and cause of death, this is still the early stages of the investigation,” Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said.

Investigators are now asking for surveillance footage that shows the events between Monday night (January 6th) and the morning she was found at the marina.

Anyone who has information related to her death is asked to email tips@flaglersheriff.com. To remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-277-TIPS (8477). You could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
