Volusia County Fire Stations Now Equipped With Microchip Readers

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - A brand-new initiative is underway to get lost pets home a little faster. Volusia County Animal Services (VCAS) has purchased microchip scanners for all county fire stations. Firefighters at each station will be trained on the use of the scanners.

The program will be a help to those who find pets by giving them a convenient place, open 24 hours a day, to get the animal scanned for a microchip and home to their owner.
