Volusia County To Offer Online Utility Assistance

DeLand, FL - Volusia County residents who might need some help with paying utility bills will be able to submit an application online beginning Monday, November 16. Online applications can only be done on Mondays. The portal to submit an application will not be open prior to 9 a.m. on the 16th and will close when the maximum number of applications that can be processed are received. The portal will only be open for applications on Mondays.

You can also call 386-239-7757 to make an appointment for an application. That phone number is not open to receive phone calls until 9 a.m. on November 16. Appointments will only be accepted for Mondays and will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, provides financial assistance to eligible households to meet the costs of heating and cooling their residence.

Besides filling out the application, applicants must submit the required documents which include the most recent utility statement, social security cards of all household members, driver’s licenses for adults, birth certificates for children, lease or mortgage/property tax statement, and documentation for all income received within the previous 30 days.
