DELEON SPRINGS, Fla. - The Volusia Sheriff's Office announced in a statement Monday that a 2 year-old girl was saved from drowning in her family pool on Sunday by deputies and relatives.

The girl was reportedly discovered floating face down in her family pool by family members. She was quickly pulled from the water by a relative who was supervising several kids at the time.

911 dispatches Thomas Eggers is credited with talking that family member through CPR while deputies and Volusia County Fire Rescue personnel raced to the home. Deputy Kaelin Darcy was first on-scene, taking over the CPR until VCFR could take over. Moments later, the girl was conscious and crying.

Following the dramatic rescue of the girl, she was taken to a local hospital and listed in serious condition. She was still there as of Monday, but doctors are reportedly hopeful for a complete recovery. The family pool, meanwhile, is being investigated by the Department of Children and Families for factors which may have contributed to this scary incident.
