UPDATE:   Ormond Beach Police investigators traveled to Michigan yesterday (June 10) to assist the U.S. Marshal's Service in arresting Stephanie Holly in the death of her son, five-month-old Daemon Scott.

Chief Jesse Godfrey stated, “This arrest is another example of great investigative work and collaboration by members of the Ormond Beach Police Department and the State Attorney’s Office. I am confident that justice will be served regarding this difficult investigation and know that the victim, “Baby Daemon”, will be properly represented in a court of law.”

Ormond Beach, FL - The mother of five-month-old Daemon Scott, who died one year ago today as a result of child abuse and neglect, is sitting in a Michigan jail today, awaiting extradition to Florida. Stephanie Holly is not a good Mom, according to Krista Jones, who has known her for years.

In an interview with News Daytona Beach, Jones said that she is the stepmother of one of Holly's children who is currently in third-party custody in Mississippi. Jones is married to the father of Holly's child and they lived in the same mobile home park where Baby Daemon was abused.

Jones says she has known of Holly for 13 years because of her relationship with Jones' husband. She got to know Holly better during the past three years as she and her husband fought for custody of the child in Mississippi. When talking about Holly, Jones said she's not violent but 'does have a mouth on her.'  Holly has given away all of her children, according to Jones, either to grandparents or fathers and in the case of the child that's in Mississippi, to a third-party.

Jones was with Holly when they got the news that Baby Daemon was dead. Jones says Holly sat like 'a zombie' and showed no emotion when they heard the news. When the doctor asked if there was anything he could do for her, Jones said Holly said, "Oh, my baby,"  and flings herself on the floor, rolls around and beat on the floor, throwing a temper tantrum. When asked to identify the baby, Jones said Holly refused so she did it herself. Jones said she had nightmares for weeks afterward about the condition of Baby Daemon's body. She described the sight as 'horrendous' and talked about the injuries. "He had bruises all around the top portion of his head, down his left arm, all down his right leg. Burns behind and then inside of his ears and tubes and wires everywhere.  It was the absolute worst thing I've ever seen in my entire life."

After the baby's body was identified, Jones said OBPD officers asked her to drive Holly to the police station. "The whole time, I'm screaming at her in the car. How could that happen to his face, how could it happen?   How did you not see this? What is wrong with you? How could you not say something? You see something, you say something! What is wrong with you?" Jones said Holly said she was working all the time and that C.J. (Calib Scott) would not let her see the baby.

Holly was interviewed for hours by the OBPD on the day of Baby Daemon's death, June 11.  Jones said early on the morning of June 12, Holley got on a bus to Toldeo, Ohio.  Jones said when she realized Holley was gone, she contacted OBPD. Jones was able to find out that Holly was headed to Monroe, Michigan. She got an address for her, passing the information along to the police department. Holly was arrested at that address just one day short of the one year anniversary of the death of Daemon Scott.
