One suspect had been arrested in connection to a Monday shooting at Froggy’s Saloon in Daytona Beach. 26-year-old Steven Ott faces an attempted murder charge in an incident that left two people injured including Ott himself. The shooting occurred just days before the start of Biketoberfest, an annual gathering known for bringing patrons to local bars.
According to police, Ott was in a dispute with another individual who was reportedly armed. The fight spilled out onto the street. Both these two were said to have fired shots before a bystander also drew his weapon and fired.
One victim was located at the corner of Grandview Avenue and Main Street in Daytona Beach, police say. They were suffering from gunshot wounds. Ott was also located on Grandview Avenue after being shot by the bystander. Both individuals were treated at nearby Halifax Health Medical Center and were said to be in critical condition.
As of Thursday, Ott is listed as having been charged with attempted second degree murder. He was denied bond, and currently does not have a publicly available booking photo. Ott has no prior arrests on record in Volusia County.
