Daytona Beach, FL - An 18-year-old Ormond Beach man was arrested on Monday afternoon after he pointed a shotgun at a mother and son during a traffic altercation in Daytona Beach and threatened them, yelling a racial slur. William Ramey was arrested at 12:47 PM on the 1200 block of W. International Speedway in Daytona Beach as police were conducting a traffic stop. Officers were conducting the stop in response to a call about a white male getting out of a faded red truck and pointing a shotgun at a gray van. Ramey, who drove an older model, faded red F150 truck, was pulled over for not using his signal. Police found one firearm located in the passenger seat, and Ramey said there was another one in the back. There was also 3.31 grams of marijuana in his truck, an open bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey in the passenger seat, and a 12-pack of beer. Ramey was later identified as the suspect in the traffic incident. Police later made contact with the victims, Antoinette Saintvil, 48, and Salnave Guillaume, 23. The victims, mother and son, are both from Daytona Beach and both black. The mother, Saintvil, said that she was driving down Seneca St., about to cross Speedway when a man in a red F150 truck (later identified as Ramey) told her that her van was moving too slow, according to the police report. She said Ramey pulled out in front of her, slammed on his breaks, and began calling her a racial slur. After Saintvil and Guillaume told Ramey to "get it together," Ramey pulled a rifle out of his truck, threatened them by saying, "I will shoot you," and again used a racial slur. Saintvil said Ramey followed her as she got in her car and drove to a gas station. When she got on her phone to call 911, Ramey drove off. Both victims later confirmed that Ramey was the man who had assaulted them earlier and positively identified Ramey's truck as the vehicle involved in the incident. Ramey is being held without bond on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of marijuana under 20 grams, and possession of liquor for a person underage.
