AdventHealth Offering COVID-19 Testing At DIS

Daytona Beach, FL - Tomorrow (April 10), AdventHealth is opening  a drive-up testing site at Daytona International Speedway. They are offering 500 or more tests beginning at 9 a.m. The site will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. or until testing supplies run out.

While a doctor's order is not required for testing, you need to meet the criteria as set up by the Center for Disease Control. If you  are symptomatic or meet the criteria, you should go to  to schedule an appointment prior to arrival. You'll enter your contact and insurance information (if you have it) and be assigned a testing time. There are no out-of-pocket costs, whether you have insurance or not because AdventHealth is covering  the costs for those that are not insured. The test consists of coughing and spitting into a cup. Results can be expected in two to three days. After you're tested, you'll get a test message on how to access your results. If you do test positive, you'll get a call from a nurse to go over the results and your best course of action.

“Making tests available is one of the most important things we can do to prevent further spread of COVID-19 and keep our community safe,” said Dr. Scott Brady, president and CEO of AdventHealth Centra Care. “We’re asking people to stay home and practice social distancing, so bringing testing closer to where they live is essential.”

You'll access the drive-up testing location at DIS' NASCAR Drive entrance at the the intersection with ONE DAYTONA. The site will remain open as long as supplies are available, with hours from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

“Our leaders have worked tirelessly to obtain this amount of testing which is critical to the success of defeating COVID-19,” said David Ottati, CEO of AdventHealth Central Florida Division – North Region. “We are thankful to be part of a national health care system and thankful to Volusia County for all of their efforts to partner with us and bring this service to the public.”

“We are proud to partner with AdventHealth on this important community initiative,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. “Our state-of-the-art facility stands ready to serve as a COVID-19 testing site for local residents.”

AdventHealth is evaluating additional locations in other communities and hopes to further expand testing locations.
