AK Certified Roofing to Donate New Roof to One Local Veteran

Posted

AK Certified Roofing, a Palm Coast-based roofing company that describes themselves as family-owned, has announced that they’ll be giving away a free new roof to one local veteran in honor of Independence Day. The initiative, detailed in a press release issued on Monday, is what the owners hope will serve as a token of gratitude.

“This gesture is a small token of appreciation for their service and a way for us to express gratitude to those who have served our country,” said AK Certified Roofing owner Andrew DiGaetano.

One winner will be selected out a field of applicants who meet a few criteria to be considered. The veteran must be the owner of the home that would receive the new roof, and they must be honorably discharged and retired from military service. Each person can nominate one veteran during the application period.

Nominations will be accepted from June 28th until August 31st. Those hoping to submit a veteran in their life are encouraged to do so by filling out the nomination form at the company’s website. Active duty personnel are not eligible for the giveaway. Background checks will be conducted.

According to the company’s statement, a winner will be selected following a “thorough review of all nominations, followed by the selection of the top three candidates.” Those three finalists will have the opportunity to interview with AK Certified Roofing to determine who the one lucky winner will be.

Though there will only be one winner, any veteran nominated will be glad they were considered. AK said on their social media pages that each nominated veteran will receive $500 off a roof replacement or $200 off a roof repair, even if they don’t get selected as a finalist.
