Daytona Beach, FL - The fallout from the COVID-19 epidemic is leading Volusia County beachside hotels to temporarily suspend business. Bob Davis, president and CEO of the Lodging & Hospitality Association of Volusia County, said he thinks that at least ten more hotels will soon do the same.

At least four hotels made the decision to close down and drastically reducing staff, bringing the number so far to 11.  Hilton Garden Inn at Daytona Beach International Airport will be closed for a minimum of two weeks. The other three hotels, Sandals Inn and Nautilus Inn in Daytona Beach and the Royal Floridian Resort  in Ormond Beach, are closed until further notice.

Hotels shut down before today are the  Holiday Inn Express and the Hampton Inn in Daytona Beach Shores and the Ocean Breeze Club Hotel in Daytona Beach. They are closed until further notice.

Oceanside Inn in Daytona Beach, plans to reopen on April 15.

In Ormond Beach, The Maverick Resort and the Quality Inn & Suites, will both close this Saturday, with a tentative plan to re-open on May 1.

In Port Orange, the Country Inn & Suites adjacent to Interstate 95 and Taylor Road plans to close Sunday through May 1.
