The Volusia Sheriff's Office first learned of 19-year-old Clifton Allen after the Brevard County Sheriff's Office contacted the agency for help around 5:30 Tuesday evening (July 22nd). VSO learned from BCSO that Allen was wanted for a shooting from a day earlier.

Deputies soon established surveillance on the black Honda Accord driven by Allen and tracked it as it drove south on Nova Road towards the Florida Gun Exchange, where they tried to purchase four other firearms, per VSO's report.

After coordinating their moves, deputies soon swarmed the suspect vehicle with support from Air One and K9 units, which led to the apprehension of Allen and three other occupants.

Among those arrested was 19-year-old Zamarie Daniels, who was arrested on a warrant from Brevard for fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement.

Following the arrests, deputies also found an AK-47 along with two loaded 30-round magazines and a 75-round drum magazine.

The Volusia Sheriff's Office also noted that one of the deputies assisting in those arrests also spotted a stolen 2020 Chevrolet Silverado – unrelated to this case – passing the gun store. According to VSO, the deputy recognized the truck thanks to a previous be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) alert that was issued out of Putnam County.

That driver was arrested without incident and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended license.
