Daytona Beach, FL - City commissioners unanimously approve the payout of a $600,000 discrimination settlement.

That settlement stemmed from claims made by a former city employee, Thomas Huger, who claimed that he was denied a promotion and was treated unfairly.

Huger also said that his race and age were discriminated against and that he had to work in a "racially-based" hostile work environment.

This is the second settlement awarded by the city. Last September, former employee Sonja Wiles filed multiple complaints against city officials with claims of gender discrimination and gender-based hostile work environments.

Her settlement was over $400,000, meaning that the city has paid out over $1 million in discrimination settlements since last year.
