Cold Shelter Open in Flagler

Open to anyone without a home or heat

Flagler County, FL- The weather is dipping below freezing this weekend in Volusia and surrounding counties. The cold weather shelter will be open to those who don't have heat or a place to stay,  Friday-Sunday at Church on the Rock at  2200 N. State Street.

The shelter is open from 5:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day. Transportation is available throughout Flagler County. Two routes follow the schedules below:

• Hidden Trails Community Center, 3 p.m.

• Espanola Community Center, 3:30 p.m

.• Bunnell Free Clinic, 4 p.m

.• First United Methodist Church in Bunnell, 4:30 p.m

.• Veteran’s Park Flagler Beach, 3 p.m

.• Flagler County Social Services, 3:15 p.m.• A1A Tennis Center, 5633 N Oceanshore Blvd., 3:30 p.m.

• Dollar Tree (by Carrabas), 4:10 p.m

.• Palm Coast Main Branch Library, 4:30 p.m.- 4:40 p.m. depending on traffic)

 

The Sheltering Tree is open from 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M every Tuesday to provide people experiencing homelessness with lunches, emergency food, supplies, clothing, and hygiene products. As well as bike repairs and distribution, information about community resources, and assistance with signing up for public assistance programs.

The Sheltering Tree, under the Flagler County Family Assistance Center, was created in 2011 to provide cold-weather sheltering It opens anytime the temperature is 40 degrees or lower in Flagler County.
