Ponce Inlet, FL - A caregiver and her husband are now in jail, charged with burglary and first-degree murder in the shooting death of an 89-year-old woman.

Police say the woman was found in her Links Village Drive home just after 5:00 Wednesday (Jan. 5) morning. She was taken to the hospital but later died as a result of the gunshot wound. Both Micayla Yusco, the woman’s caregiver, and her husband, Tyden Guinn, have been charged with burglary and first-degree murder—with Yusco charged with principal to murder.

A report from the Ponce Inlet Police Department says Yusco visited the woman about twice a day. Both Yusco and Guinn were taken into custody after they reportedly told a relative that they had shot the woman. They remain in jail without bond.

Police are also investigating an incident in the Oak Hill area that is supposedly related to the homicide in Ponce Inlet. Details about that incident are not available at this time. Yusco and Guinn are schedule to appear in front of a judge on Thursday (Jan. 6) afternoon.
