DAYTONA BEACH - 27 year-old Danial Marashi was arrested on Wednesday as a fugitive in Daytona Beach, according to a statement from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. There were apparently warrants out for his arrest for drug charges and for leaving the scene of a vehicle accident with injuries.

Marashi is well-known to Flagler County for a December 2021 shootout at a residence on Regent Lane in Palm Coast. That instance was said by police to be a botched drug deal which led to the shooting death of 23 year-old Zaire Roberts by Marashi. Roberts, along with 23 year-old Kwentel Moultrie and 19 year-old Taylor Manjarres, allegedly arranged the deal with Marashi but attempted to rob him as it was underway.

He had two felony warrants in connection to a car accident from April 2022, in which he's said to have run a red light at Belle Terre Parkway and Royal Palms Parkway and collided with another car. FCSO deputies also charged him with possession for a quantity of marijuana found in his vehicle, as well as a firearm he wasn't licensed to carry.

On Wednesday, detectives with the FCSO's Problem Area Crime Enforcement (PACE) unit determined that Marashi was in Daytona Beach. With the help of the Daytona Beach Police Department he was located, arrested, and booked into the Volusia County Branch jail. Police say he also was found with a quantity of drugs he intended to sell: 1,568 grams of cannabis, 95 grams of THC wax, 26.8 grams of Roxybond bills, and 7 grams of oxycodone.

Marashi is now held on $45,000 bond for his drug charges in Volusia County, and no bond for his Flagler charge. Sheriff Rick Staly, long forthcoming with his contempt for Marashi, called him "a dirtbag" and expressed his desires for Marashi to be sent to prison.
