The Hooters restaurant in Daytona Beach has permanently closed. Open for almost 40 years on International Speedway Boulevard, this closure marks the latest in a string of Hooters locations to cease operations in recent years.
With the loss of the Daytona Beach location, there are now no Hooters restaurants left operating in Volusia County. The corporation also recently closed its locations in Jacksonville and Panama City Beach.
Located just across the street from Daytona International Speedway, Hooters spent years as a staple of the business ecosystem around Daytona's largest economic hub. That association carried over onto the race track; Hooters sponsored NASCAR entries at Daytona from the 1980s to the 2020s.
Still, the writing has been on the wall for some time that a once-iconic American restaurant brand was on the decline. 40 Hooters locations across the United States closed in June 2024, and Hooters of America filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2025.
As recently as Tuesday, the Hooters of Daytona Facebook page posted a promotional graphic advertising 10 wins for five dollars every Wednesday in October. That promotion proved to last only one Wednesday. Volusia County patrons of Hooters will now have to drive to Orlando for the nearest location that's still open as of Friday.
